Hi everyone,

Our next meeting is April 21st, 6:00 to 9:30. First meeting in our new space, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The Cultural Center of Cape is located on 307 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth. We will be in the Great Hall for this meeting,

To get to the Cultural Center from Route 6, take Exit 8, then Station Avenue to Old Main Street.

From Route 28 coming from Dennis, take a left at the traffic light before crossing the Bass River Bridge.

Our next project is Basic Peyote Bezel.

We will do a peyote bezel, and one row of embellishment around a 14 mm crystal rivoli.

We can provide 14mm Swarovski crystals for $2 each in the available colors: copper, amethyst, violet, sapphire, red-orange, aqua, rose, lt topaz, vitrail lt, and olive. We also have a few complete “kits” available.

Basic Peyote Bezel Supply List

The amounts listed are for one rivoli. Consider what your final project might be-pendant, ring, or earrings and bring the appropriate amounts.

You must use a size 12 beading needle since you will be making several passes through small beads.

You may use 15o Czech beads but keep in mind that Toho and Miyuki have larger holes and usually are larger beads as well·


SUPPLIES: for one component

One 14mm crystal rivoli –(Swarovski is recommended)

11o Cylinder beads (Toho or Miyuki Delicas) small amount -50-60 beads)

15o seed beads, 2 colors, small amounts of each

11o seed beads small amount

4mm crystal bicones,( or 4mm pearls or other round beads)

Size 12 beading needle. This is important!

Things are in full swing for the Mini Maker Faire on April 30th from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mashpee Middle School. Set-up will start at 8:30 a.m. It was decided that Bead Society members can either donate a piece of jewelry that they have created to be sold with the proceeds going to the Bead Society or if you volunteer for the Mini-Maker Faire you can sell your own pieces with a 15% charge of the item price to go towards paying the $25 table fee.
