Next month (August 21st) is the Bump Bracelet taught by Mardee Verdina. This is done in even count flat peyote with a little twist to form a bump. Please familiarize yourself with even count flat peyote before coming to the class, there are numerous sources on the web or look in the back of a good bead magazine.

Supplies for a 7 inch bracelet including the clasp.
  • 90 #6 Beads
  • 180 #8 Beads
  • 180 #11Beads
  • 210 #15 Beads
  • 105 #15 Beads in a contrasting color (this is optional) You can use one color only
  • 6 lb Fireline - Needle of choice as long as it will pass through the #15 beads
  • 2 Strand Clasp
  • Scissors, bead mat, etc.
For those of you that know the stitch and want to get a jump start on the class you can string 10 beads and weave ( in peyote) 3 rows of 15's, 3 rows of contrasting 15's, 3 rows of 15's, 3 rows of 11's, 3 rows of 8's, and be ready to start the bump. Leave at least a 10 inch tail in case you need to adjust the length larger than 7".
Below are two examples of the Bump Bracelet using slightly different beads. Once you learn the technique you can experiment with different beads.
