Good New Year everyone,

Welcome back! Our first meeting of the New Year is Thursday, January 19th at the Cape Cod Cultural Center in Yarmouth.

Tassel Class

January's class is a tassel project. We will present 2 different tassel instructions for this month’s class. The first will be the continuation of the October undulating herringbone necklace or lariat. The supplies for this will be:

A variety of beads used in your necklace. You will use predominately 11o beads for the string section, (all one color or a combination) and any 8o, triangles, rounds, or faceted beads to intersperse with on your string or as the bottom turning bead. The bottom bead may also be a drop bead.

You may work on this tassel without the accompanying lariat. The process will be the same and you may use it for a separate pendant, or make two for earrings. Supply list similar to above: 11o beads in one or more colors, drop beads may be added for the bottom turning.

EASY VERSION FOR BEGINNERS

We also will have a simpler version of just a tassel, using a bead cap or cone and an eye pin.

Supply list:
11o seeds beads in your choice of color(s), drop beads, triangle or other accent beads for bottom
Eye pin and bead cap or cone. Wire working tools to form loop
Double the quantity to make earrings.

FOR ANY VERSION

Nymo or other softer thread is recommended for more drape in your tassel. Fireline will give a stiffer appearance since you will in effect have a double thread in each string.
Size 12 needle

See you on the 19th!
