Hi everyone,

Just a reminder, our May meeting is going to be the fourth Thursday of May, not the third Thursday. See you on the 26th at the Yarmouth Cultural Center.

May Project: A Mandala

May’s project builds on the bezeled rivoli that we constructed at the April meeting. It begins with a bezeled object which can be a rivoli, a button, a stone, or any round, flatish object that you would like to use. We will be using superduos with 11o and 15o beads for the embellishment.

The instructions for the bezel will be the same as we used last month ( starting with an even number of Delica or cylinder beads and finishing both side pieces with 15os).

Please see the attachment for the instructions.

The embellishment, with 2 colors of superduos ( or twins), will be constructed in two layers and works up fairly fast. I’ve also included a matching beaded chain using the same beads.

It would be very helpful if you could construct your bezel before class ( yes, homework!!), then we could concentrate on the fun parts at class.

If you are having trouble with your bezel or you missed the April class, come see me at my shop Saturday morning from 10 to 12, May 21st. Please let me know ahead of time though if you would. There is no charge.

Supply List for the Rivoli:

11o Delicas or cylinder beads, small amount, 54+
15o, small amount

For the Embellishment and Chain::

Super duos (or twins), 2 colors, 9-10 gm tube of each
15o, Can be the same color from above, or not. 9-10 gm tube
11o seed beads, a small amount (2-3 grams)
A clasp of your choice or can make one using beads
