Hi everyone,

A big thank you to everyone who made it to the March meeting! For our next meeting, we'll be making Tubular Herringbone Bracelets. This is a wonderful, highly adaptable stitch as you can see from the pictures.

Supply list for April 2013 – Tubular Herringbone/Ndebele Bracelet

Project supplies:

1. Clasp (we will be working from end to end so we will start with the clasp)

2. Size 8° seed beads in 1, 2 or 4 colors

3. Embellishments – not required but nice:

8° hex beads

Small drops

6° seed beads

3mm and/or 4mm Czech faceted beads

5° triangle beads

General supplies:

1. Fireline – 6lb or thread of your choice

2. Beading needle size 10

3. Thread Heaven or wax as a thread conditioner

4. Bead mat in a light color – a white paper towel would be good if you have a dark mat

5. Light and/magnifier if you need one.

During the earlier part of the year we declared the 2013 was “The year of the Herringbone/Ndebele Stitch” In February the project used the Flat Herringbone stitch, this month we will be using the Tubular Herringbone stitch and in June we will be learning the Spiral Herringbone stitch.
If you missed the February meeting I have some links to bring you up to speed for the project this month:

Flat Herringbone tutorial: http://whimbeads.com/cart.asp?pg=classroom-flat_herringbone
Tubular and Spiral Herringbone tutorials: http://www.fusionbeads.com/Herringbone-Techniques - with this tutorial you can get a head start on this month’s project.

Please note that we completed the flat herringbone using 2 columns of the stitch or it was 4 beads wide and in some cases a bridge was included in the project.
